5th Grade Resources, Ms.Gangopadhyay

Biography:
My name is Ms. Gangopadhyay. I was born in Oakland, raised in Alameda, and have lived in Kolkata, SF, LA, and New Orleans. I began my teaching career in New Orleans teaching pre-K and first grade. I have been teaching at Acorn Woodland Elementary School since 2011. While at AWE I have taught reading intervention, kindergarten, fifth grade, and after-school programs, including technology and drama. Building relationships with students and their families I believe is a very important part of the teaching experience. I am a GLAD-trained, Bay Area Writing Project Teacher Consultant, and work closely with Mills College in various capacities, including Lead by Learning. I currently lives in East Oakland with my husband, Mr. Sheth (a regular at College and Career Day). I love spending time with my mom, sister (another College and Career Day regular!), brother, and friends. I love to read, write, cook, go for walks, travel, and watch the Warriors! I speak Bengali and am trying to learn Spanish every day. Come by my classroom (B24) and say hi!
